not sure if this is the right section to ask in if not sorry. I'm having a problem with my coyote swap. The air intake tube and the fan want to be in the same place. Can I modify the air intake tube with a sharper turn at the throttle body and still use the stock air box, and not need a custom tune? The directions with the control pack are a little vague.

I think golddust did something like this.

I trimmed the bottom of the air box so it sits on the frail rail area. I also lowered my fans as low as I could and that was enough to make it fit. Not sure what fan you have but I'm using a dual fan from a contour. If you can't get it to work I have a brand new custom cold air intake I made. Simple design, straight pipe with a 90.

Thanks the air box is not my problem it is the tube itself, If I drop the radiator about 4" Everything fits but then part of my radiator is behind the bumper. I'm using a a 2008 radiator, a 2013 fan and 2011 overflow bottle.

I think I could make up something like your custom one and just use thee 2013 airbox on the end instead of the cone filter . I'll try and post up a pic tomorrow.

Are you doing the swap in a fox? My intake tube is bent pretty tight, but you may be able to do what you said with a custom pipe and factory air box. Let me know if you need help with anything,I'm just about done with my swap.

Not in a fox body is in a 69 f-100. This is the best pic I have before the rad and fan came. I'll have to take one with it all mocked up. I'm thinking of the airaid system they sell the intake tube separate for around $94 Then I could hook to the stock airbox

I think I'm going to leave the radiator dropped low. The bumper covers bottom 6" of rad, but on the stock mustang the bumper covers the same amount in the middle of the radiator. If I drop the radiator the stock intake clears. I moved the engine back another 1/2" This way I could build a custom air intake with the parts from western above the rad in the hole left by the stock f-100 rad, once I get truck up and running. Thats the plan for right now may change but thanks for all the help and pics.
