I'm looking into converting my 351 (74') block into a roller.. I don't however want to use the $400 lifters. I was told this weekend you can just drill and tap the lifter valley to acccept the metal thing that holds down the dogbones. I would also have to run a small base circle cam under .600 lift. Does anyone see a problem in doing this?? THANKS

The lifters are better. I think they would last longer. But yes they are more expensive. But you can do the dogbones thing but im not exactually sure how.

do a search on small base circle cams. I've never had a problem, but I've recently read about some problems others have had. If you go the lifter route, you'll get a better lifter and can pick up any used cam your heart disires, otherwise your paying atleast 250.00 for a small base circle bumpstick. Weigh it out!
