what kind of compression should i see when doing a compression test. so i know if the motor is good or not.

it is on an 88 5.0

I go by, anything under 95 psi is a bad hole.

You need to compare all cylinders to one another. All cylinders should be within approximately 10% of each other. On a stock motor they should be around 150-165 psi. Any cylinder 10 % less than your highest reading would be considered to have a problem (ie burned valve, blown head gasket or worn rings.)
