My heads just got back from the machine shop. They did a valve job, milled the heads slightly, and then cc'ed them. The combustion chambers came out to 64.5cc. That's larger than what TFS claims stock. Anybody have a clue why this might be???
I asked the same thing when I got my TW heads ported and CC'd about 3 years ago and they measured 64cc. The shop said that all the TW heads that they had measured were between 64cc and 66cc! The valve job will have increased the volume, but it seems that the chamber volume as-shipped is no where near the 61cc that TFS advertises.
In my case it didn't matter, since I was getting them milled to 58cc anyway.
What is the typical charge to have someone cc a combustion chamber? I hope my TW's aren't that large! Also, what is the typical charge to have a set of heads milled? Is an angle mill better because it allows the intake to line up better or is that the standard flat mill?
