I have a pair of used GT-40X aluminum heads that I need to clean up. Where I've been having some difficulty is in the combustion chamber where there's some carbon build-up. What's the best way to clean up the combustion chambers? I obviously don't want to use anything especially abrasive and scratch up the chambers. Is there a solvent that works well?

TIA

Thanks for the replies guys.

Out of curiousity, are there any problems associated with hot tanking aluminum heads? If not, how much does the process generally run?

NO

you cant hot tank aluminum heads, it will eat the aluminum. call a machine shop, they will tell you they use a "cleaner" on the heads.
