What have you guys found to clean the oxidation off the underhood aluminum accessories, such as the alternator, water-pump housing, timing chain cover, e.t.c.?? Anything that sprays on and rinses off without scrubbing?? Don't want anything that eats plastic or gaskets either

I usually just blast EVERYTHING under the hood with Simple Green and then rinse it off and then wipe it dry. It looks good.

You may want to cover the alternator with a bag and then just wipe the Simple Green on without spraying it with the hose. And if you use one of the pressure washer things, make sure to not blast under the engine....just a fine mist.
