so my 4160 has a manual choke. i never use the choke
because it sticks and i have no problems with it running
cold.

is there any compelling reason why i should not just remove
the choke plate?

i don't plan on milling the choke housing off, but should i?
or is it good to have because it might straighten the air
into the throttle opening or whatnot.

thanks!

just take it off.
real easy to do, grab it with a pair of channel locks, and roll it out of there, it will twist up, but who cares... comes it in 10 seconds.
then pull all that crappy linkage off.
