Yep there are 6, and gutting cats can actually hurt performance. True, there's less obstruction in the exhaust path, but you still have the cat casing that is wider than the piping before and after it. This can cause turbulence in the exhaust flow and actually negate any benefits of gutting the cat, and sometimes actually perform worse than with the cat in functional condition. This effect is exponentially greater if you're doing it to 4 or mor cats.
