Carpet install progress..

Well, following the directions on the great tech article that is on this site. Got the driver and passenger seats out, armrest, shifter, and not much else. Any tricks to getting the rear seat out? I installed new aftermarket hatch carpet that screws into the pieces that fold down when the back seat is folded down. Does this come off with the rear seat? Hope not. Any other suggestions from this point on would be helpful, thanks guys. I figured since my car is down from me putting the new 3" studs in, might as well embark on this project as well.

Any links to a fuel pump relay cutoff switch? Thanks..

The whole console has to come out as well. Also, both kick panels and sill plates must come out. The back seat is a little tricky. Push back on the front of it and lift it out. Push - Lift.

You're gonna have to disconnect your radio and HVAC controls to remove the center console. One point of advice, is don't ****uh rig it back together when your done. Take your time lining the console back up properly or else sh*t won't fit right. Namely, your ash tray and shifter cover might not fit right. Oh, and don't listen to this Sideways jiggie, he picks strawberries for a living.

On the bottom part of the seat, grab in the center of the seat. you can get your fingers under it and then just lift. It will pop right out.

For the backs, you have to unbolt them but it is not needed. Just remove the bottom.

You also have the remove the relay brackets from under the seats and the seat belts from the floor. I believe it is a T47 for that.

I used (I think) a T50.

You don't have to remove the heater controls (???)

I just did this myself last week.

Remove the stereo, and you'll have to take the console out too. There's some bracketry around the stereo that needs to go, but the heater controls can stay.

Thanks for the tips getting the rear seat out guys, came with no problems. Just by looking at the rear of my hatch it looked like the fold down seats are connected to the bench, but they're not.. heh. Anyway, working on getting the center console out still. I need to get over to Kragen Auto Parts and get the correct bits to get these seat belts disconnected so I can make the new cuts in my black carpet, man can't wait to get it in.

No one has a link to a fuel pump cut off switch? Is it very hard to do? I think I'm going to run some power wire from my battery to the rear while my carpet is out, no sense in doing it when the carpets in. Plus this gives me a chance to make the wiring look clean under the carpet. Thanks for any more tips guys.

Do you have the center console out already? If not:

2 screws/bolts hold the panel on under the steering column. Remove that. Now open the glove box and squeeze the 2 sides together so that the box will open and hang straight down.

On either side of the top of the console where the air controls are, there are 4 screws holding the top part of the console to the dash. Remove those. Now behind the radio on both sides, there is 1 screw on each side, take those out. Also, press the 2 tabs up to remove that little trim panel that goes around the air controls.

The whole center console should now be ready to be removed. Unplug the 1 or 2 harness connectors from the back of the radio and the antenna wire.

Any more questions just ask.
