thanx for the info! so these accessory thread holes are for aftermarket brakets right? i mean, nothing is in the holes now but the smog lines so they make it that way just for options right? im just checking, i havent put my heads & cam in yet & am trying to cover all the bases here..............
Some of the bolts that hold the stock brackets use
these threaded holes. On a stock car the plugs are
only fitted into the front-facing sides of the heads;
the back holes are left open to allow air to flow into
the head from the metal tube that bolts onto the
backside of the heads and goes to the air pump.
Since these heads are reversable it's real common to
accidentally swap them on a rebuild and have the
plugs in the now backside of the heads and gaping
holes in the front.
ok, makes more sense now. so the current(stock) front holes have these plugs in them already for accessorie brackets? so i only needed to buy (2) in order to plug the old smog holes in back of the heads right? if so i can get my $5+ back for the (2)extra plugs i bought!.....or better yet, i could probably check the threads of the plugs & use a bolt instead so i could return all (4) of the plugs!
