It was suggested that a bad ring or two was causing blow-by which pressurized my valve covers, pissing oil out of my breathers. Now I'm wondering about the possibility of timing causing the same effect. I'll soon do a compression test to confirm or deny the former, but in the meantime I am realizing that I have adjustable cam sprockets on the Crane cams that could possibly be out of sync with the crank, causing an intake valve to be slightly open during the exhaust phase. Cary mentioned flames coming from the tailpipe during deceleration one night on the way to Hooters which to me seems like it could be an exhaust valve being slightly open during combustion. Does this sound like a good possibility? If so, how hard is it to get to the cam sprockets on a mod 2v? This could possibly the root of my C.E. as well...
