I cut the wire when pulling the engine and threw away the old pan and the sensor still in it, so now I don't have a sensor to connect back up with the wire, can I just screw a plug into the sensor hole and dead end the end of the cut wire?? I"m running the stock pressure gauge as well as an Autometer electric oil pressure gauge, so if something goes low or bad I'll be able to see it, but I just don't want to trip the check engine light

any help is appreciated

You dont the "electronic dipstick" I cut the wires from mine and plugged the pan. No check engine light, no problem.
Ford sells a plug, I think 87 LX had a factory plug.
