someone was telling me that they hooked up a bottle heater using the wires to the rear window defrost. is this safe? same voltage? i would think it would work great since i dont use it anyway cause of my tint. leeme know what you think.

Just check the draw on the defrost circuit....my heater has a 30 amp in line fuse so the defrost circuit should also be 30 amp rated. I just went ahead and ran mine to the battery. It wasn't hard fishing the wires under the carpet, thru the door sills and out the firewall.

NX and NOS heating pads seem to pull about 15-25amps each. I think the rear defrost is not a bad idea if the fuse is big enough.

All I did was buy a heating pad, 1 bungee strap, 1 NOS bottle blanket and a power inverter. Done Done. Works faster than NOS's bottle heater and cheaper. I have a total of $40 into it.
