I'm wondering which tool is better to use for removing/installing springs & seals on E7 heads.

The Lever type valve spring compressor (which is basically a long piece of strengthened steel) is way cheap for $18 @ Summit but is it REALLY hard to get out the spring using that tool? I'm debating on whether to get the $18 lever type or the $50 handle-type valve spring compressor, any advice? The heads are also out of the car right now.

Also, who sells replacement springs for E7s just to replace the stock ones?

Nobody I talk to knows much about head work  , so thanks in advance.

I agree with urlosin, I have used the simple bar-type and worked out great. Make sure you have a magnet to pick up the keepers when disassembling the springs.

I used a stamped-steel lever type the last time I did it and I will never use one again. Piece of **** bent all over the place and those were STOCK replacement springs.

Since then I went to NAPA and got a screw-type deal, also available from Sears, they run $25-35 and based on some conversations I've had I'm confident it'll be a big improvement.
