1992 5.0 Mustang Convertible LX started running bad blowing black smoke. Replaced Throttle Position Sensor and mass air flow sensor any suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Not even code 11 or 99? Check the basics next, spark, compression… also if you have a volt meter, check the coolant temp sensor. If it’s faulty it can dump fuel.

Black smoke is usually over rich. Did you change the parts before or after the black smoke?

After, it doesn’t smoke as much but just feels like it’s going to cut off. One other thing is it has a strong fuel smell also.

Possible that the fuel pressure regulator went out. The Diaphragm burst inside. Pretty common. Or injector stuck open.

If it won't send any codes when scanner is hooked up not even a code 11 the ECU may need R&R. Capacitors, power supply, etc.
