Some are aware that I've been dealing with some gremlins with my car. I was told if any of the capacitors have any green fuzz below them that they are bad. Also there is another one that has greyish substance under it.

I decided to pull out the ecu to see if I have a aftermarket chip ( plan on getting tune verified) and found this kb flip chip.

I also found this ground wire that is bare, no insulation.

I also wanted to check the internals. Pretty sure it's bad, just looking for confirmation.

Any good places to buy a reman?

Just noticed one of the capacitor legs is completely gone.

if you want to test capacitors, your other thread already told you how

if you find one with a open, replace it, and the rest if it makes you feel better.

that chip is an old relic, get yourself a tuner or tuning device, you will quickly find out, if there is an ECM issue, FOR CERTAIN, not guessing

the bare ground is normal, nothing wrong with it.

I have a local electronics store solder in 3 new capacitors, or you can send off ecm to have it refurbished. Probably won't be able to find a refurbished one from parts store anymore.
I'm sending it to ECU Exchange. They will have it all checked out.

I replaced the caps in my computer with no issues whatsoever. Any mediocre soldering kit will have everything you need to do the job. I did mine a couple years ago. I bought the caps and a how-to from a guy on eBay. My caps looks just as bad, if not worse. I definitely noticed a seat of the pants difference

Glad I sent it in. They found more than just the capacitors.

Stand up company, highly recommend. I ran the car up to operating temp. Then shut it off and did a KOEO. Code 11, followed by a 10.

Still need to see if I have a vacuum leak.
