They're not exactly "painted" but they're covered with SOMETHING, maybe epoxy or enamel, and I couldn't get it off for love or money when I painted mine. I had them chem-dipped and then I tried to wire brush them. PITA. I'd just clean them thorouthly and paint over top.
Actually - I just wanted to know because I am going to clean them thoroughly when I do my Cobra intake install and wanted to be sure not to ruin them by spraying degreaser on them. If they are enamel then that will withstand what I intend on exposing them too. Thanks for your help buddy!
