if you have to replace your oem tank i'd suggest you have a reality check as far as future plans for mods and hp levels go as you may have to upgrade again at a later time

glenn's sleepr tank

or

glenn's 03 cobra tank

The OEM 87-93 gas tank bolts are: (unsure if earlier are the same)
M10 x 1.5 x 35mm long. Class 9.8

The pass side has plenty of space to install a longer bolt, but on the drivers side you have a hard stop at 35-40mm with the bottom of the spare tire well. This side, it would be best to install a stud and thread a nut on to make install easier.
LMR sells the studs (came across it this weekend as i needed a new j-nut)

Sleeper tank is actually a pretty good tank, it has big -10 or -12 suction line fittings coming out the front on the bottom for inline pumps and a return line in stock location.
more importantly it has a much better baffle setup, which keeps the pickup submerged at all times

the fox tank baffle is pretty much non-existent and thought i saw someone on here having issues with the spectra stock replacement, which made it even smaller as its probably easier to make and hence cheaper

here's what the pickup looks like in glenn's sleeper tank

Yes just got on back in Sept, my OEM one the pan around the pump broke off from the tank and was sliding all over (wish I knew this before getting on track) I picked it up from LMR
surprised you're running the stock tank and not a baffled one

That’s why I had to replace my tank as well. The baffle broke loose.

wish I could have repaired it. My original tank was pristine.
strangely enough sounds like the oem baffles are just soldered on there where as the aftermarket is spot welded although some have a design change which will cause problems with fuel delivery

there's some great info here, EFI fuel tank baffle description? which refreshed my memory.
when my oem tank went i bought some aftermarket one locally, which had the same crappy sump design (one hole on the side of the sump) and so returned it and went with glenn's sleeper tank.

that baffle design is probably the biggest thing to be on the lookout for when any of you guys get your factory/fox replacements tanks. its probably the reason why some have had fuel pickup issues and/or needing to keep 1/4 or more in the tank at all times.

If you are looking fuel tank strap studs , i believe "Dorman 03131 Exhaust Flange Hardware Kit" are identical to the LMR ones. You may be able to pick those up locally.
just got my LMR strap kit and sure enough dorman 03131 (x4 studs and x4 nuts)
