When I step on the pedal, it feels like the clutch is working for a little way down, then a grind of gears happens and the clutch falls right to the floor....

I thought it would help if I changed teh cable, because I thought it would lessen the force against it, because the original cable had 100k miles on it

but its those little plastic gears underneath the dash that are slipping... They dno't seem to be worn, but maybe they are... I was thinking maybe a spring?

any of you have this problem before... basicaly my car isnt' driveable until I can use the clutch.. so please help

thanks alot
Jason

It could be possible that your stock plastic quadrant is dead. If your hearin gears grinding that would make sense. You mentioned you got a new cable, did you leave your old quadrant in?
