I live in the Knoxville area. Anybody else near to K-town? We could all hook up and scare some Hondas! ;)

This was the post that started this all. It's been over a year! I'm thinking it's time for a party!!!

Yikes .... That's our vacation neck of the woods in the summer. It can be 38-40F at the peak while it's 95F at the base.
I've seen a story about that observatory at least once on TV, it looks like a scary place to work.
Well, if they lose heat - meat popsicles!

Made a dump run yesterday. 12x6 trailer full of stuff. Can walk in the basement again.

All except for the 10-12 large totes of camping stuff we got out of the camper. Sigh. Took us three hours to pack it up and get it out of the camper.

Now to go through all that and keep or toss. Half probably be tossed.

Went through my “key basket”. Tossed well over half the keys. Some from late in laws place, etc etc. made one ring with assorted house keys that will go with the house. Will lay on the counter when we sell.

Split the last of the wood at the lot yesterday. Got it all hauled to the barn and stacked. Only to discover that we will likely have a couple more trees to take down. Discovered as I was roughly passing off the area where the house will be. Don’t want any trees near enough to cause issues if they come down.

I think I’ve got the layout worked out for where house will go as well as the detached garage/apartment for mom. Looks like I’ll be reversing the houseplan to work a bit better with the lay of the land. Ill
Have a better feel when I can get out there with some stakes and a tape measure.

Well done, working out the last details of something as complicated as a new house plan, it takes lots of time.

Gym results: been going to the gym three times a week for last six months. Functional strength training such as body weight exercises, lunges, with some traditional weight training thrown in. Generally 30-40 minutes and six different exercises. Meet my brother there so we hold each other accountable that way. I’ve attached the comparisons between the six months. I know I can physically do a lot more stuff than I could before and also knew I’d lost some gut. 4.5” of gut, in fact.

Now, if I can get my diet under control I suspect I could see massive improvements by getting my body fat down.

Cholesterol, blood glucose, BP, and triglycerides are all in normal range as of a month ago.

Oh, and I successfully cometed my first real pullup last week. Not bad for a 50yo old guy I guess.

My advice on the diet is to go keto. At 48, I lost 35 lbs two years ago, and have kept it off with pretty much the same regimen as you. I do add HIIT to the mix twice a week, so that helps.

Make sure your fats are healthy and eat more protein than you would if you were doing this at age 35. Satiety is better that way and you cut calories. Intermittent fasting w/keto is a supercharger. BTW, all numbers are normal at 51 for me.

I second that suggestion. Once you convert your body to being a fat burner losing excess is easy... Body looks for fat to burn while fasting.

Basic cholesterol numbers are a joke as there ARE good LDL and our bodies need it (!!!) To make hormones. Small dense LDL is bad but there other is required.... Get a full lipid panel if concerned here. Medical community tells such half truths or LIES these days you've got to really really research yourself. Sorry tangent rabbit trail. F

Jean’s mom started having hallucinations yesterday, today. Man, this is a fun ride at the carnival.

Oh no. Sorry to hear that Michael. I can't imagine what you two go through as a result. Wish there was something we could do from here to help.
Do a close evaluation of her medications. Sometimes their body chemistry can change a bit and their meds can start causing issues. Sorry to hear, it's not a fun ride at all.

She's on virtually no meds Richard. Most likely another UTI -- and it could just be getting closer to end-of-life. Seeing other people in the room when no one else can is very, very common.

Yes, that is more likely since no meds. My grandmother was doing the same towards the end with her Alzheimers. Talking about the casino they were building upstairs (she was in a nursing home) etc etc. UTI are terrible to deal with. They just don't know they have one till it gets pretty advanced and then causes all kinds of other issues and such.
This post coming from my new MacBook Air with M2 processor.

W(whatever)TF that means..... $1500 later, good to go!

Well Michael, that machine is as fast and capable as your Volvo.
LOL! Or, whoever owns the Volvo next. The appraisal assessment was done yesterday. Should get the report in a few days.

Great plan. I'd never thought of getting an appraisal on a car as unique as yours. Of course I've never been in those shoes.

Excellent machine, should last you another 5-10 years. When you spread that price out over that time period, it doesn't hurt as much when you get it.

Will indeed be curious to see what the appraisal value is on the Volvo.
