on fox body stangs i noticed some guys removing the passenger side headlight to get some cool air near the air filter. this is with conical filters obviously. so i did it to and noticed there is an airbag crash sensor right behind it. i unbolted the sensor and layed it aside. my question is: can i just set it out of the way or can i remove it entirely? im afraid of the thing going off. can I remove the airbag sensor? I have even thought of setting if off myself but decided against it. the car is a weekend/strip car only. any thoughts on this subject? I dont want the airbag to go off, especially while going down the 1320....

If this is a strip only car, you can remove the air bag. It can be illegal to remove it on a street car. There is a specific procedure for removing the air bag in the shop manual, as it can be dangerous to remove if you don't know what you are doing. If you move the sensor, you will prolly get an air bag trouble code showing a faulty ground at the sensor.
