I replaced my ac compressor clutch, pully and magneto today (came as an assembly). I reused my clutch shim (the new kit didnt come with any)and now the air gap between the clutch and the pulley is bigger than the specified (.021 -.036"). It measures somewhere .055 and .060". Now my compressor wont come on unless i tap it the clutch, but it disengages soon after. It wont run at all when driving.

Here's my question. I didn't use the clutch installer tool the manual refers to - it just slipped on and it installed the single nut in the center. Is that tool necessary to get it to seat all the way? Or is my shim too thick and ill have to find another? And i cant seem to find the replacement shims Any advice appreciated. Thanks
