Part number on the trans harness is for a manual. Just checked.

I checked pin 30 at the eec also switch is at 5v constant is that right? Pin 30 seems to have something to do with the clutch switch? When I checked the clear plug at the clutch switch the blue/yellow wires have 12V and the black/white wires have 5V constant. Is that right I'm getting lost in this.

I'm about to just rip the dash out and trace wires that way!

pin 30 is a monitor

it looks at voltage it sends out

if hi, circuit is open

if low circuit is closed

you have to now how monitors work

i can get them out to you hopefully tomorrow night

pm me your email

also, measuring stuff without knowing what to expect, is useless

Trans harness isn't where the fault happens. The o2 sensor harness has the junction where the power gets sent to the ecm. You have to move a wire there from one pin to another.

The wires for the 02's and low oil did not change throughout the years, they are all in the same place.

The main ones you need to worry about are (on the harness end (ECU) that plugs into the 02 plug) is:

- 1. Lightblue / yellow
- 2. White / Purple
- 3. Purple / Yellow

The White/Purple & Purple/Yellow gets looped for a automatic ECU

The Purple/Yellow & Lightblue/Yellow for a manual ECU
Went ahead and did the research for you. Fix the jumper and no more fried ecu.

I already checked the o2 wiring loop and it was good from what I saw. I will double check again referencing your info.

I also tried just disconnecting the o2 harness at that junction and still read high voltage between pin 46 and body ground. So I figured the o2 harness wasn't the issue.

Ok I'm pretty sure I've isolated the problem. The connector right in front of the firewall which has the clutch sense switch wiring and signal return wire running through it is pinned wrong. I believe the female side from the engine bay is 1991 and the Male side that runs into the car under the dash is 1987 and they don't mesh. Does anyone have a pin out for both years or at least similar years. Like I said both cars were manual trans so both harnesses that I'm playing with should be manual, just a difference between the years?

I forgot to attach the pic.

One thing I found , having owned many fox Mustangs, is 91 is a bastard year for harnesses , probably because of the 1st year with airbags .
But only 91 works with 91 .
Ya I'm understanding that now. I have the 91 wiring but it's also mangled. Do you know of a place to buy a whole new dash wiring harness? Or is there a good wiring diagram that I could use to re wire the 91 harness I have that isn't installed yet?

You need a 91 evtm, eBay should have one

Cannot trust any used harnesses in any event

I would verify the connectors have the correct pin orientation

Bishko 1991 evtm bought and delivery expected Monday. Here's what I have to work with for the 91 harness I already have (over 50 wires loose from their connectors). If anyone has a better idea than trying to rewire the mangled harness I already have I'm all ears. It took me a while to get it even looking that nice it was all balled up and tangled in a box stored away.

that isn't that bad.....

I could show you panels with 10X that amount of wires.....
