That'll be nice to have something runs faster than a fox ECU, i understand for those turning their engines up the SN conversion was an option, but I'd rather have something like this.
Any update on a potential availability date? Are you possibly going to be making chips too? Haven't found a source for those yet since Moates closed up...
The processor clock speed is more than adequate at 12 MHz, 15 MHz, whatever it may be. The filtering loop to establish the engine state doesn't need to run faster than 1000 Hz, so whatever deficiency you perceive in the Fox ECU's performance has little to do with that, but likely more to do with the software running on the older machine itself. I've not had a reason to upgrade my Fox Mustang's ECU, but having built several other vehicles that I retrofitted with EEC-V, I'd happily move to one of those ECUs in a heartbeat. Not only do you gain full solid state electronic components, but the refinement and features in the later ECUs is a marked improvement on all fronts. A few things you get out of the box with an EEC-V:
- No longer need an MSD box because that function is built-in and tunable in EEC-V
- Got a gnarly radical cam? No problem because EEC-V has like 5 different ways to tame an idle
- Want to run coil packs or COP? No problem
- Want to control a modern computer controlled automatic transmission? No problem, built-in
- Want to have a choice of sensors to use, including being able to control all the old Fox stuff? No problem with EEC-V
