Trying to recharge my A/C with R134a.

Which fitting is the LOW side?

There are 2. One is right above the compressor and the other one is farther away. thanks.

Looking at the compressor - the hose that runs back
to the firewall is the low side. The hose that runs to
the front of the car is the high side.

If you don't know the suction from the discharge side you shouldn't be trying to recharge the system. Besides, with R134a the fittings are different sizes, you can't mix them up. Do a search here, someone posted a good site for retrofit information if that is what you are doing.

I did the retrofit. It came with the adapters. I recharged it last year and it worked. The recharge can and fitting only fits on one of the 2 hi or low sides (it only fits on the low side), but I just wanted to be sure that I put the retro fit nozzles on the correct hi/low sides.

Recharging is not a big deal. Just screw it on. But I just wanted to e sure that's all. And I've read about the R12 and R134a oil not mixing well w/o it evacuating first, but it's an old car that's going out the door soon anyway.
