has anyone put a rear end out of a newer mustang into a fox.i have a 90LX can i fit the other rear in . i was thinking since i can get one cheep ,and it is 5 lug all i had to do is put gears in it .but what do i do with the brakes

It will be much wider than the stocker. The 99+ cars have a housing that's an additional 3/4" wider per side and the axles are 1.5" longer than the stock 1990 axles. It will bolt in though, but you'll need to play with rim offsets to keep things under the car.

If it's just a 5 lug conversion you are after Ranger axles make the easiest swap without altering track width.

dont waste your time.

The 6.42 BS works on the M179 wheels for axles that are half the increase wide, so .75" wider than stock axles.

Actually the 1999 8.8" Mustang rear is 1.5" wider than the 1994-1998 Mustang rear, which is 1.5" wider than the 1985-1993 Rear. So the 1999 Rear is actually 3" wider than a 1985-1993 rear.

It would fit, but it would stick out like crazy.
