you need to see key state, see if the ecm recognizes it

doesn't mean they are on it the whole time

its very low on their priority list

make sure CEL is not a bulb, your ecm may not be powered correctly if bulb is good

key run should ALWAYS have the light on the whole time key is in run

in crank, the light will go out if ecm receives rpm signal, no rpm signal means CEL will stay on in crank, and it will NOT START.

fuel in the rail is not a fuel pressure test

never use ether for a fuel test, use brake clean or carb cleaner

ether can diesel on its own without SPARK

diagnose the failure, what PIDs are you looking at?

sounds like you are reading a DTC, that is not scan data stream, that is what you need

that is a DTC, not a PID, really not helpful

you need to stream data and see the start circuit PIDs

Then I’m guessing I can’t do that with what I have. And I am a whole lot confused and I guess airport Ford was confused because they couldn’t fix it apologized for having it 3 days and didn’t charge me anything. With that being said this isn’t an easy thing to fix and any and all help is much appreciated. My mechanic buddy said to go get an ecu from a crown Vic that has a 4.6 automatic in it and plug it up in my stang because they don’t have pats. Any knowledge about if this will work or not? If this don’t work I found a 2000 gt convertible with engine blown for $500 that I’ll go buy and switch out every little thing I have to to make it work.

since you were not charged

take it to diagnostic shop, within 1 hr they will tell you what the issue is
