As far as I know, only the '96-'98 GT's had a recall for the plastic intakes cracking. My '99 GT, which I bought in Dec. of '98, has recently cracked it's intake. It spewed coolant into my #1 cylinder and smelled just wonderful coming out the tailpipes in a glorious white cloud of smoke. Anyone else with a '99 GT have this problem??? I baby my car. I go out to the track about once or twice a year and I change the fluids religously and drive like a sane person most of the time. I was even in the process of a synthetic oil experiment. Been putting it in since 19k miles. Currently has 63K miles on it. Sorry, had to vent. Also wondering if anyone else has heard of such normally aspirated horrors.

If his car has 66k miles on it I doubt warranty will cover it unless he has the extended one. If so, take it in. Sounds like a blown head gasket.
