1989 Saleen # 89 - 559

Authentic Saleen currently modified for road racing/open track and high performance street applications. Always garaged and covered. Best of everything. Awesome car. Pictures availabe upon request. Modifications:

Engine:
· Saleen 302 cid 5.0 Liter V8 (EFI)
- GT-40 upper and lower intake custom colored (white) to match car
- Hooker Competition long tube headers
- Valve covers custom colored (white) to match car
- 1.7 roller rockers
- Powermaster high output 140 Amp alternator
- MSD 6AL ignition System
- MSD power HVC blaster coil pak (48,000V, 300mA)
- Be Cool Aluminum lightweight radiator with custom overflow recovery reservoir
- Black Magic electric fan
- Motorsport blue silicon hoses
- Cold air induction system (fender mounted K&N filter charger)
- Motorsport tune up kit including 8.5mm plug wires, cap and rotor
- Saleen spec. Injectors, Throttle body, MAF, and motor internals
- Used only Mobil 1 tri-synthetic motor oil (changed every 3,000 miles)
- Custom exhaust system with x-pipe and side exit pipes (2.5” mandrel piping from header to side pipe, not just the tips)

Chassis:
· 12-point custom roll cage (certifiable for SCCA, NASA, NHRA, IHRA among other sanctioning bodies) and full framed body
- 1.75 DOM mild steel tubing .120 wall thickness
- Complete custom chassis painted Ford gray
- Custom wheel tubs that hold factory suspension points
- 2”x3” box tubing for thru-floor framerails and shock tower bracing, rocker panel kick outs, and torque boxes
- Maximum Motorsport Front strut tower brace
· Custom sheet metal work in center console and computer mount for easy access/tuning
· Fuel cell trap and structural support for traditionally weaker chassis points
· Battery relocated to behind passengers front seat in a Moroso Blue polybox (approved by all sanctioning bodies for relocated batteries inside driver compartment for better weight distribution)

Suspension/brakes/wheels & tires:
· Saleen racecraft suspension with the addition of:
- Koni HP yellow shocks and struts on all 4 corners w/ Hotchkiss U & L ctrl arms
- Maximum Motorsport adjustable caster camber plates
- Baer racing complete braking system: PBR calipers F&R, 13x1.1” 2 piece vented rotors F, 12x.865” vented R rotors (reverse slotted and zinc washed), upgraded master cylinder, prop valve, stainless steel lines, parking brake, performance pads and fluids
- Steeda Ultra-light wheels 17x9 on all 4 corners w/ Kuhmo Ultra-high performance tires 245/45 F and 275/40 R

Fuel System:
· 15 Gallon fuel Safe Enduro Racing cell with bladder and foam baffling (certified for SCCA, SODA, NASA, FIA, FT3, NHRA, IHRA and more) located in chassis fuel cell trap
- 45-degree custom fast fill with aluminum tubing and quarter panel mount (eliminates stock tank and fuel fill mechanism)
- BBK in line electric fuel pump 255 lph and high performance fuel filter
- VDO custom calibrated fuel level gauge mounted on dash
- Custom aluminum bulkhead between passenger compartment and fuel cell area required by all racing sanctioning bodies
- Plumbing done with steel braded lines and AN fittings

Drivetrain:
· Saleen spec HD T-5 transmission (5 speed) with quick ratio shifter (used Redline D4 ATF oil only and Redline synthetic gear lube)
· FRPP high performance aluminum drive shaft
· Auburn PRO 31 spline differential
· Forged 31 spline Dutchman Motorsport racing axles (5-lug)
· TA/Summit Racing 8.8 aluminum girdle
· Adjustable cable and clutch quadrant
· Saleen spec clutch and flywheel
· Saleen ring and pinion 3.55 ratio

Interior:
· Momo Steering wheel (Saleen/Monte Carlo)
· 2 Momo Corse racing bucket seats (FIA/FT3 approved)
· Saleen billet aluminum shiftknob
· Clarion DRB 4475 CD head unit with 4-2 speakers (door mounted standard)
· Sparco/Sabelt 4-pt street harness and Simpson 5-pt race harness included
· Amenities include heat, A/C, and cruise control, pwr door locks, pwr windows and mirrors, pwr steering and brakes

Exterior:
· Sanja Performance Fiberglass heat extractor hood custom painted white with black cowl section
- Bolt on with supporting hood-pins (as required by most racing sanctioning bodies)
· Custom pin-on fiberglass hatch with Lexan/polycarbonate rear window and safety support struts (hatch assembly is for lighter weight but can be used on the street also) with authentic Saleen wing
· Standard Authentic Saleen ground effects package (Replaced the Saleen rear valence with a Cobra valence because it now has side pipes instead of tailpipes)
· New high quality paint job and freshening/reconditioning in winter of 2000
