Can I add a roller cam, roller lifters and roller rockers and make my engine a roller block? And if so, any recomendations of either a solid or hydrolic lifters. Thanks Doug

You can, but it will be expensive. You will need a special cam with a reduced base circle, special length pushrods, and a roller cam retrofit kit. Check out either Comp cams or Crane Cams, both of them sell Hydrualic Roller retrofit cams. There are others too, just can't think of them right now.

Also, you will need to upgrade the springs, locks, and retainers in your heads.

If it were me, I would just get an off the shelf Extreme Energy (Comp Cams) hydraulic flat tappet grind. The cost of converting over to roller may not be worth the SLIGHT gain in HP you will see.

Bingo! I was kinda wonderin' why a roller was needed when there are other great cams out there.

FWIW, the stock 84 block is the only one that I have cracked in the 10 cars that I have had.
