I am restoring a 1965 mustang. I bought an 80's model 302 with the dipstick on drivers side rear block, and the fuel pump mounted to the block. from the code numbers on the block, I believe it was originally a truck engine. The question I have is this, will the motor "drop in" and clear the suspension parts, or will I have to change oil pans and go from a rear sump to a front sump, etc etc, to make it work. Thanks so much in advance for any advice on this :)

You will have to change the oil pan as the late-model dual sump pan won't clear.

What kind of tranny are you using?
If its a manual tranny, the late-model blocks do not have the mount for the Z-bar. A bracket is available however.

You will have to use an early timing cover also with the oil dipstick tube in the timing cover... Then plug the old one in the block up....
