I'm wondering if the trunk to the Fox hatchbacks are the same or if they change through the years. I have a 86 and seeing if i can use one from a 87 up.

Ford changed the latch and striker in 91, but I believe the hatch it self is the same from 79-93.

Need one from an 87-93 LX to match the 86. Some of the early 80's hatchback's had a windshield wiper on the hatch. So pass on those If you come across one.

What part of the trunk? The hatch, the floor pan, the panels etc.....

I assume he means the hatch.

92+ got two additional bumpers on the sides of the hatch and there was a slight sheetmetal revision to mount them. They also got the upgraded latch, which I highly recommend over the 91-older style.

The wiring changed over the years, so the harnesses are year specific.

But no major changes that would prevent an 87-93 hatch from going on an '86. I recommend reusing your wiring unless you want to change to the 92+ style latch. Then some wiring changes need to be made
