I have an '69 302 block with casting number of C90E 60150 and a production casting of 9J12 (sept. 12th ??) I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this block is better than the 7TTE roller block that is currently in my car. I have been told that the C90E will suppor up to 700HP with a girdle. Is this true? Is swapping blocks worth the work? Also, can I run the roller cam?I have been told that the roller lifters need to be "special"or retrofit kit in order to work.

Thanks,

Rick

Its really just heavier, once you put on a main cap support, probably about the same hp support. Ive heard that the cylinder dont flex as much in the early blocks. But that darn two peice rear main and the roller cam retro.

Thanks for the reply Brian. So you don't think that it's worth all the trouble? I am about to bolt on a T-Trim and want to make sure the block does not come apart.

Thanks,

Rick

Just wanted you to be informed. If you dont mind the little differences then you cant go wrong. Just have it checked and xrayed.
