I just came across this video.. These guys made great power on a stock porno block with shelf parts. Pretty nice.

Well done video and damn impressive numbers. I like how it was all off the shelf stuff.

Sometimes I hate videos. I like to just read the information. I can see what parts were used and the results and if I want more information I can read the article in detail. At first all I want to know is what HCI package did they use and what power did it make at what rpm. Maybe I don't want to invest the time to sit and watch a video or two. If I remember, I'll try to look at these when I have time to watch the video(s).

I liked when they took the 1 5/8 headers off for a pair of 1 3/4 to show the power increase. Helped make the decision easier.

Yes. I just came across these videos yesterday. They also rebuilt the original Bigfoot engine. I like that they post all the parts they used.

Those AFR 205 renegade heads are really what makes that combo shine. My father has a stock block 347 in his 69 Mach 1, and it makes about 485 horsepower with a Lunati camshaft similar to the videos, same intake, 1 5/8 hooker headers, 750 carb, but it uses mildy worked over Victor Jr heads.

What I like about the AFR heads is that you can pretty much just bolt them on without doing anything to them. Also I would agree that 8000 rpm in a stock block is not very safe. You can put as much horsepower as you want in a stock block, and whatever rpm too... however the block is going to break eventually.

I know they were going for as much as possible but at 8k and all that extra money in the valve train/carb for 60 hp. I would be more than happy with the 500 and change at 6K rpm.
