I have been putting 5 1/2 quarts of oil in my car (95, 5.0) but here lately it has been overfull when I check it. It got me thinking that maybe it should only be 5 quarts? I don't have a owners manual and I can't find the info anywhere.

I'm pretty sure the '94-'95 take the same amount of oil as '93-older. And that's 5 quarts.

Egads...

The 5.0 takes 5 quarts with an FL1A filter.

Your dipstick is not correct.

Change the oil, put on a new filter, put in 4 quarts, start for 30 seconds, turn engine off, mark 'ONE QUART LOW". This is the only mark that you need. Then add one more quart.

they all take five. also your dipstick may not be correct. seems alot of 5.0's came from the factory with screwed up markings on the dipstick. this has been covered in the forums several times.

change the oil and filter, put five quarts in, run it, and check the oil. you may need to make a new full mark on your dipstick.
