I'm sure it's been beaten to death, but I couldn't find what I was looking for searching the threads...

I have a N/A 93 Fox Body with a 358W, AFR 205 heads PRO M EFI etc, making about 400 RWHP. I'm installing a TKX tranny. I have 3.55 rear gears.

1st question: Should I go with the TKX 3.27 or 2.87 1st gear? I know I want the taller 0.68 5th gear.

2nd question: What would be a good clutch for this setup? Mostly street driven but will probably see the drag strip every now and then. Something like this? https://lmr.com/item/MCL-75207/86-01-mustang-mcleod-super-street-pro-clutch-75207-26-spline

400-500 N/A drag twice a summer just run a normal T5.

Tkx is for boost and juice

I recommend this clutch for anyone making north of 400whp.

2.87 first gear version for sure.

I would run a near stock clutch. I am making about 500 rear wheel and I run a spec stage 1.

525 to the wheels. Turbo. Run a regular t5, (not a world class) and a cheap ass king cobra clutch. No slip after 4 years of beating on it.

I'm no salesman , that's for sure.

You must have missed this thread. There is enough info in there to get a good feel for where you would be at with either first gear combo. Your first gear on a 3.27 would be close enough to the 3.35 in the T5 table to get a good idea of how things would run. The other gears are all listed in the TKX table. As far as clutch goes I'm on a McLeod RST Twin Disc

if you're running dead gears in the rear, 3.31-3.08, get the 3.27 first gear then

Have 3.55s in my '86 GT with a stock T5 3.35 1st. My NA 347 is designed for low-end torque with a 6k top-end. 3.35s are way too short for Autocross or the street IMHO.

if you drive on the street, in stop and go and slow moving traffic 3.27 for sure
