Could anyone explain how I would determine the compression height of a piston to be used in 351W stroker:

5.956" rods.
9.48" deck height ('69 block).
4.0" stroke.

The normal rod length in a 408 is a 6.2" rod. I'd assume you'd have a very tall piston using such a short rod in it.

I know there is an equation out there, hopefully someone chimes in with it.

You can do a 6.2", or 6.25" rod depending on piston height.

deck height - [rod length + stroke/2]

= 9.48 - [5.956 + 2]

= 1.527
