i wouldnt say rare, but id say less than half of the 96-98s have them. most have 2.73s. (5spds, all autos had 3.08s)

youre wrong. all autos have 3.08s. ibe heard there are a few freaks with 3.27s, but none had 2.73 if there was an auto. not 96-98.

2.73s were the standard 5spd gear. 3.27s are the optional gear for the 5spd.

Go look at the driver side door jam and look for the axle code on the sticker. If I remember correctly here is the breakdown:

M - 2.73's
Z - 3.08's
E - 3.27's

My '97 came with 3.27's from the factory.

My car ran 14.94 stock with nothing but a shifter and 2 chamber flows welded in. It all depends on the driver and track conditions. It could be anywhere from a 14.9-15.4.

I ran 14.9 bone stock except for pulleys. Same gears as you.

My 97 came with 3.27's also. As for them being rare, the answer is no. When I bought my car new, every 5-speed GT on the lot had the 3.27 package.

What the hell gears do I have????
From what I can find here at work, a code LE is a 3.27 limited slip. I'll check for sure tonight when I get home. If I find something different I'll let you know.

k thanks a lot for checking. I know I have the TracLoc LSD in the car. I THINK I have the 3.27's also. That is what I have thought at least. I just saw this thread and wondered why so many people had something so different from mine.
