I just bought a 2004 40th anniversary Mustang 3.8l V6 from a insurance auto auction and when I start the car the oil pressure instantly pegs to high. I am going to change the oil and filter, in addition to the oil pressure sensor which I read may be the case. I’m going to do all the fluids when I have time off from school and work later this week. In the meantime, if this doesn’t fix the oil pressure reading/issue does anybody have any ideas? I figured if this doesn’t help it may have lots of build up in the engine, I don’t know how long it’s sat. I also have ran it for more than 2-3 minutes, because I’m wary to do so before doing a full fluids change and flush. Any information is greatly appreciated, this is my first time joining a forum and my third Mustang. Thanks
