Back story, 2012, my wife's 01 Cobra with a 03 drivetrain swap unfortunately was wrecked when it met a freeway barrier. (She was fine, car wasn't.) After buying back our 01 I took all the speed parts off it and parted it out. We ended up fairly ahead with the buy back/part out and picked up this car. We waited for a bit and I had planned to go out of state for exactly what we want. We got lucky and this was listed locally. Our goal was to build it up to be an excellent cruiser for road trips but still be able to run down the track and hold it's own. I've used it in a dozen or so multi state road trips with friends. Wife doesn't drive it much anymore except maybe to work a few times a year. So it's pretty much mine now. It's the garage queen. We purchased with 41k, now has 67k. I spend more time on this one detailing it and keeping it as perfect as I can for a driver. I've mentioned it's the unsung hero. When my fox is broke or I just want to drive something without feeling too racecar, this is what I take.

From Utah, I've taken it to Vegas close to a dozen times. Grand Tetons twice, Route 12 in Southern Utah a few times.

Best 1/4 mile times for it at our track elevation was 12.72 @ 116mph on the street tires with wife behind the wheel. Best I ever did was 12.84 @ 114mph
It's been dynoed at 497rwhp/491tq.

Specs:

2003 SVT Cobra, Sonic Blue.
Posi Ported Eaton with 2.76 upper/stock lower. Makes around 11 psi at our elevation.
JLT intake, Posi ported plenum and TB. (Have an Accufab but took it off because it was sticking.)
52lb GT500 injectors, Boost-a-pump, SCT 2600 MAF
SCT Pro Racer Pack, dyno tuned.
BBK Offroad X-pipe, Magnaflow catback, Bassani resonated tips.
Upgraded dual pass universal heat exchanger.
Steeda Tri-ax shifter.
Ford Racing 3.73 gears, Billetflow IRS brace, Full Tilt Boogie differential bushings.
18x9 Front 24mm 275/35/18 18x10 Rear 22mm 295/35/18, Continental Sport Contacts.
Steeda Sport Progressive springs, Maximum Motorsports CC plates, sway bar end links, and sway bar bushings.
Cosmetic: 99-01 Amber tail lights from our former car, 3M satin black roof.

The stereo is one of my fav things about the car. It's just right.

Everything Mach 460 removed and trashed.
Pioneer AVH-X2800BS.
Infinity Reference Components front and Reference 2 way rears.
10" Kicker comp VR.
Alpine MRX-V60 5 channel amp. Mounted to a custom rack that goes where the Mach box was so it's totally hidden.

Here's one of the many of us racing. She cuts a great light, usually .0xx. If I sleep even the slightest bit she'd get me.

Almost cracked 500rwhp. I’m guessing your high elevation is killing your track numbers. At least you still have the IRS. My 04 Cobra was already solid axle swapped when I bought mine.
The same exact parts on my other cobra netted 509/499. It runs great though so I can’t complain.

Update on this car. It's been sitting apart in winter hibernation, but apart.

A common issue that will affect all terminators is the 3 little rubber bushings inside the lower supercharger pulley drive cage. While not a cream puff car by any means, it's far from being really high mileage. Nor does it have a big blower. Most people fix this issue a few ways. #1, find a cage off a lower mile car (problem still exists.) #2, take a carbide bit and cut the lip out of the back side of the bushings and press in new bushings (I don't like this idea). #3, separate the main shaft from the tri-bar retention plate. (Usually this strips the threads out and/or makes it weak that after reassembly it falls apart. Some will even weld the shaft to the plate to prevent this and it still fails.) #4, put a Metco lower pulley on it and ditch the cage. (I personally don't want to do this as I feel Ford spent the money and the effort to design this support for a reason... plus I've seen plenty of broke crank snouts posted online.)

I'm going to try #5, I'm going to drill out the 3 pins and machine my own with a serviceable design with ARP hardware and machined stainless inserts. This will keep the shaft/tribar intact and also make this serviceable to change the bushings on car if you so desired. Someone else did this on SVTp but has been non responsive to questions. I have a friend that is a machinist so we are going to come up with a design. If it goes well, we may even market them as kits. So far we've been able to remove the pins. All our hardware and raw materials have arrived and we're going to work on machining it tomorrow with his CNC lathe.

We're going to replace them with a 60a urethane bushing. Several folks have used this hardness. However if all goes well, we may also machine some out of Delrin for hard core people with big blowers.

Old/worn bushings.

Drilling out the factory rivet pins. However Ford did this it was impressive. They must have used some sort of massive hydraulic press to install them. We spent weeks looking to try and find direct replacements but it is a total process and hardware proprietary to Ford. The metal used was pretty fairly soft.

New bushings and prototype replacement pins with ARP hardware are machined (used 416 stainless) and installed! I just got it running. Have not driven it yet. I have another local friend who's bushings are shot that we made another kit for. He's going to test as well. If things go well we'll be making more and selling them as a kit for those that do not want to do metco pulley's and retain the factory crank support and make the bushings serviceable.

Also in the process I replaced the factory accessory belt and all of the bearings in the factory idlers. Out of the 4, 3 of them were dragging heavily and 1 was grinding. Once I started the car back up idle noise was much quieter.

Can't wait for spring.
