My DR setup:
15x8 prostars & 275/50/15 BFG’s

I’m running my first event on them this weekend. It’s about a 200 mile round trip and my dilemma is, do I put them on at home and drive or put them on at the track? I would much rather put them on at home and drive. Do you think I will eat’em up? I don’t go to this track often, so it’s far from an every weekend thing.

I’m also thinking that since they are brand new, this maybe good for them. Btw… if it’s cloudy this all changes :).

Thanks

I don't know about the BFG's, but with my Nitto's I never take 'em off. 75 miles to the strip, drop the air, run the snot out of it, air 'em up, 75 miles home. No problem! Just bolt them up and go... You should be fine...JMHO

I have BFG Drag radials as my street tires. I drive to the track on them, swap on the slicks, and then put the drag radials back on before I leave to drive home. I just drove from Cleveland, to Philadelphia, up to Albany, and back to Cleveland on them. No problems at all.

It'll help if you drive to the track on them, it'll break them in a bit and heat them up. They do wear out quickly though so in the rain, just go slow and be careful.

If you drive them to the track just make sure to air them back up before you drive home. Sidewalls on any tire will fail if driven any distances on low inflation pressure.
