Hey Wile.E all good on the "hijack", haha. I have a combination of different sound deadening materials gathered up over the years. I went with Noico as a base layer, as seen in the pics. My plan is to do as you did and follow that with thicker liner, I'm terribly worried about the weight as the car should have plenty of power.
I'm curious what rear camera setup did you go with? I am going to be using an old school Alpine 7909 head unit, but I am considering putting a camera in place with a backup / rear view mirror.
I will dig it up. I have so many parts for this car. I counted once and was at 122 parts all over the place. It got so bad that I had to label the boxes just to find something when wanting to locate parts to complete another portion of the car. I am sure you know all about that and finding things you forgot you had as your significant other shakes her head.
I will let you know when I get home soon and should of already been installed until dragged into work again. It was not even $30 and has so many features being clear and vibration resistant for track use or street driving. I will definitely test it out first giving you results but it did have awesome 5 star reviews.
As far as that Noico (if spelled correctly) I used that exact same stuff first as well. I used it on the whole trunk area since it is thicker having that butyl rubber stuff for absorbing noise/vibrations. I wish I put it only in trunk on flat surfaces. I put it on back seat area running down to floor and was sitting on it during hot summer finishing off other side areas blocking off holes from exterior road noise and rattling metal areas using lighter damplifier pro with less butyl.
Well long story short or shorts is I was sitting in same spot for so long while measuring/cutting/installing/rolling out material and went to get out of car to stretch and I was stuck. My weight combined with heat made the thicker butyl come out from seams sticking to my shorts. I was so stuck that I had to undo my belt and take off my shorts to get out of the car lol. Then cut away while peeling my shorts off the material all pissed off from losing some of its density.
Funny story but a lesson not to put it in any vertical angles or will melt wanting to slide down in higher temperatures. I just foil taped the pieces holding it together with new carpet on top then looked into other type of sound deadening. I am so glad I did not put that stuff on my door panels, trunk/lid or speaker deck or would of been cleaning up a mess for some time. The second skin is so easy to work with and roll but can cut you quickly. I got their "B Stock" which was pieces either thicker in some areas (never thinner) using those on like driveshaft tunnel or the sheets (foil) had minor dents or not cut straight.
Not a big deal at all and hell of a bargain for 36 square feet for like $80.
