I think I know what the problem is with the windshield wipers. I don't have the wiper control module on my harness. Now its tracking down which module is for my car. I think it might be part number F33F-17C476-AA but not sure just yet. I could see on the diagrams this weekend that there was some kind of control module but I thought it might be built into the motor or the switch but it looks like its connects to the harness behind the fuse panel.

I didn't get a chance to work on the car this weekend but I got a few parts for the car. I found a windshield wiper interval module. The only problem I have run in to is I can't find the second connector.

I've looked all around but I can't find it. The module is supposed to be for a 92 fox body. I'm going to get over there this weekend to work on the car so I'm going to do some more hunting for it looking at the diagrams. I'm going to move forward on getting the interior in the car. I'm going to do some painting in the car to clean up the roll bar and a few other places before I drop the dash in the car.

I did get some parts for the engine a couple weeks ago. I got a Scat crank and Scat H-beam rods. I'm planning on doing a big bore 347 for the car so looking at a Dart SHP block from fordstrokers.

The reels for the driver and passenger seatbelts were different between my '91 LX and '93 GT. I'm about 80% into swapping a black interior from a '91 LX into a '93 GT. When I went to install the black seatbelts into the GT, I found that the reels lock into the car differently. Mounting bolt is the same and in the same place. There is a length of metal with a 90 degree tab to stop the reel from twisting. Those arms/tabs were different. I had to cut new slots for the black arms/tabs. No biggie.

Hell yea!

As far as the connector goes, let me know and I can try to find you something in the diagrams/OEM manual I have. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a jumper harness in there that you're missing.
I didn't even think about that it could just be a jumper I'm missing. Its a card edge connector that has a cut in the middle to separate the 8 connections. Good thinking man thanks for the help.

Now that you mention the metal tab I think I remember it. Crap it might be something else I need to get. If you have pictures of it would be a big help. Since I don't plan on putting the airbags back in the car I'm going to look at 87-89 seat belts since the reel systems are designed non airbag cars. I believe all the mounting points are the same between the years don't think it ever changed it was just the reel system.

So I bought most of the main engine parts yesterday from fordstrokers. I ended up going with a Dart block for the car. Here's the parts list so far.

Dart SHP 8.2 Deck
Scat 3.250 stroke crank
Scat H-beam rods
Wiseco 4.125 2618 forged pistons
Clevite 77 bearings
AFR 185 58cc heads
Trick flow 1.6 rocker arms
Elgin hyd roller lifters
SA Gear timing set

The parts are going to take 6-8 weeks to get. I'm still undecided about the cam right now. I still have a few more engine parts I want to get for the car but holding off for right now since the ones I'm looking for are easy to get. I'm going to swap my Canton RR pan for a FFRP M-6675-DRS302 pan which should work better. I'm also undecided if I'm going to swap my Cobra intake for a Trick Flow Street heat intake or get my cobra intake extruded and honed since I do like the looks of the cobra intake better.

I vote Cobra. I like the cleanliness of an OEM look. The average foxbody is heavily modified and different. Makes sense to be different by staying relatively stock looking lol
I'm with you on that I think the Cobra intake was one of the better looking ones you could get for the fox body. I'm looking at getting it ported not sure it can flow enough for the 347 without being opened up.

I think it will struggle up top, which is generally where you find they lack the umph required.

However, that lack of top end flow means more bottom end grunt as intakes tend to trend to one side or the other. And Torque is where the smiles are made. Plus you're taking the competition level of the car way back and enjoying it more for it's driveability.

I wouldn't loose sleep over a properly worked cobra intake over say the TFS R.

That's the reason I went with the Cobra intake at the time all aftermarket intakes were designed to work best at the top end they were more geared to drag racing then road racing. The Cobra intake had good mid range torque since it was designed for a street car. I'm going to end up just leaving it for now if I think it needs more I will take care of it then. I'm starting to take a step back on some of the plans I have for the car. I was planning on making all these changes to the brakes, suspension and drive train but now I'm just focusing on getting it back on the road. When the time comes and I've had time to test the car I will figure out what it needs. I have to remind myself the car worked really good with the parts it has on it now.

I finally got a chance to work on the car this weekend after missing the past couple weekends. I started with fixing the parts of the harness that I opened up when I was tracing the wires.

Then I got the dash frame in and started to layout out the harness. I decided to remove the steering wheel to make it easier to get everything in the car.

I hadn't planned on mounting the dash in the car but realized I would need to get it in to make sure I had all the connectors routed to the right places. So put the dash in the car which was nice makes me feel like I making progress.

I was think about getting some speaker grills to cover up the speaker holes but I might just get some metal and make some panels.

The next part I'm going to work on is the motor. I sent my crank and rods to fordstrokers to get them balanced. The rest of the parts should be done in the next month at some point. The hardest part I'm having right now is figuring out the camshaft for the car. I think I'm going to have fordstrokers build me a custom camshaft for the car. I also contacted CHP to see if they sell the cam they supply with there 347e short block.

The next visit I'm planning on getting the dash all mounted and the wiring all tied up.

Peter,

I never actually bothered to ask, or perhaps never saw where you said it, but I'm curious how much more streetable you plan to make it. Will you be doing insulation, carpet, full interior, and peripherals? Or is this kind of a street/track build where you dip your toes int he water of both?

Glad to see the progress though. Around this time of year it's hard to accomplish anything sometimes.

The plan is to make the car legal for SCCA CAM-T rules. The car has to be street legal and it can't have a race car interior. They state that you have to have carpet, door panels, rear seat delete if you remove the rear seats and the rear has to be covered with something like carpet or metal panels can't be left bare. Basically it has to have a finished look inside which is funny since you don't have to have a headliner in the car. I don't plan on putting the insulation back in the car I do have carpet for it with the mass back on it to cut down on some noise and heat. I have all the plastic trim for the front of the car and I have a full set of aluminum panels to make the car look like this in the back.

I don't plan on putting in a heater, air conditioning or stereo in the car but I have toyed with the idea of putting some kind of window defogger in the car. The plan is to make it as light as possible try and get it under 3000lb so I can add weight where I want it to get to the class minimum weight of 3000lb. I'm leaving in the roll bar main hoop which is fine for the rules I just have to repaint it to make it look better which is my next plan the install the rear panels in the car. The car is going to be the bare minimum I need to make it legal for the class.

Here's the rules if you want to see them there pretty wide open and that's what I like about the class.

Got some work done on the car this weekend. I worked on getting the dash finished up. I'm working from the dash back on the interior right now. I was working on the car for hours but didn't seem to get that much done on it. I started by getting the instrument panel in place and connected. After that I worked on getting the everything connected up and tied back.

Then I worked on getting the roof painted roof painted.

Those were the main things I got done which doesn't seem like much. I did work on removing the rear seat belt mounting brackets I need them out of the way so I can work on the back of the car. I'm planning on cleaning up and painting whats left of the cage on my next visit. I thought about painting it black but I think it will look better red in the all black interior. I'm hoping to have the interior done by the end of the year but we will see if that's going to happen. I should have the motor parts by the end of the year so I'm hoping to have the interior done so I can focus on the engine, suspension and fender flares.

Looks great. Do yourself a favor and Ohm out the dash frame to see if it's a true ground to the battery. I checked mine and it was, but I've seen issues before.

Do you have the plastic bracket for the ECM? I noticed it just hanging. If you need one, I have a spare.

I have the bracket I just haven't installed it yet I need to find the hardware for it. I'm also looking to either modifying or making another bracket that mounts the ECU to the firewall. I plan on running a Quaterhorse tuner on the car and I would like to make the ECU easy to access. Since I don't have a heater core or anything else under the dash I have a ton of room.

I got to work on the car this weekend so I finished up painting the inside of the car. I had to remove the rear seat belt mounts from the wheel wells which took a bit of time since they were spot welded in a hundred different places. Then I painted the wheel wells flat black to match the metal panels going in the car.

I also paint the roll bar red again to clean it up. Now I should have the painting done inside the car so I can start on fitting the metal panels in the car. I still have to decide what seats I'm going to use in the car. I thought about something like a Sparco EVOII but not sure how well it will work with the factory seat belts when I'm driving the car to an event. Its a nice seat I sat in one a couple of months ago when I drove a friends SSP corvette at an event. I also thought about Corbeau A4 seat with the added submarine belt but not sure heard mixed reviews about there seats.

I did get some good news last night the motor parts are shipping tomorrow. I have them by the end of the week early next week. When the stuff comes in I will get some pictures.
