Super nice 1991 Mustang LX, original 5.0 litre car. I probably have well over $20,000 invested in this car within the last year and the car is not yet finished. I am the second owner of this car and purchased it from a good friend of mine. The car was all original until last summer when I began this project. Listed below are what has been done and the parts to go along with the car. I am putting this together off the top of my head so some parts may be excluded in the listing.
Engine: 331 Professionally Assembled Production block (decked, line honed, bored .030 over, notched, new freeze plugs and cam bearings, painted Ford blue);
DSS balanced rotating assembly, H-Beam rods, Forged crank, -18cc forged pistons, rings, bearings;
DSS girdle and windage tray;
Canton oil pan and pickup, oil pan tapped from Canton to accept oil return line for blower or turbo;
Melling high volume oil pump;
Edelbrock RPM II intake (upper intake has been smoothed and beautifully polished);
Accufab 75mm polished throttle body;
All ARP hardware, including head studs;
Romac balancer;
Ford Racing double roller timing chain;
Anderson Motorsport B-451 roller camshaft;
Harland Sharp Roller Rockers;
AFR 185cc heads.
**All of this is new and never used. I have all the receipts.
Car: 1991 Mustang LX hatch.
Listed below are the new parts that I have installed on the car:
Ford Motorsport M-2300 brake kit (4 wheel disc conversion). I upgraded the calipers to the 10th Anniversary Cobra calipers that are powdercoated red and also upgraded the rotors to Bear cross drilled and slotted rotors (front and rear);
10th Anniversary Cobra Wheels with Nitto 275/40 555R Drag Radials on rear and Nitto 275/40 555 Nitto’s on front;
Rear end completely rebuilt using Moser 31 spline (Fox length) axles, North Racecars brackets, Eaton posi, Motorsport 3.73 gear, and Motorsport rear end girdle with stud kit for end caps;
AJE Tubular K-member with tubular A-Arms;
AJE front coilover setup;
Flaming River Manual Rack;
Strange struts and shocks;
Maximum Motorsports chrome caster camber plates;
Metco double adjustable upper control arms;
Metco lower control arms;
H&R Rear springs;
Maximum Motorsports rear upper and lower bushings;
Ford A/C evaporator;
Heater Core;
Maximum Motorsports adjustable tie rod end kit;
Taylor battery relocation box, 1 gauge wire (not installed, still in box);
Taylor push/pull battery disconnect.
Smoke headlights and corner lights.
New body trim.
Quarter windows have been refinished and look new.
I also have many used parts that I took off the car that I intended to upgrade. They include the radiator, powersteering pump, alternator and bracket, A/C bracket, AOD transmission, torque converter, flexplate, driveshaft, fuel tank, and other miscellaneous parts.
This car has never been wrecked. It has been repainted silver. This paint is slightly different than the original silver. The paint code came from a 2001 Explorer and is metallic. The engine bay was repainted as well. The interior is in great shape. No rips or tears. This car has always been garaged since I have owned it. Many other miscellaneous parts have either been polished or chromed.
