I have a rear mounted battery box. I thought that maybe off the main feed from the battery, hook up the 1.5 Farad to provide power/consistency for my audio, and when I race @ the track, I turn the stereo off for an added boost in 12-14v (And Amps) performance for all my race electronics. Has anyone ever used a capacitor to help run all the electronics? I will run a Kenne bell dual boost a pump, Aftermarket ECU, electric water pump and radiator fan.

What are your thoughts?

=Thanks

The capacitor is just going to supply power when the charging system is taxed by the instantaneous bass hits. It will not provide any extra juice for normal operating electronics. Also if you’re going to install one i recommend using a 2.5 Farad cap.

Capacitors of this sort are basically useless.

look into super/ultra capacitor banks. In my SPL vehicle I did not have a “starting” battery. I replaced it with a 500F super capacitor bank. The ESR on these is soooo much lower. It will supply more power quicker. I used that, a 370a and 80ah lithium battery.

this cap bank alone will support 4000 true watts.
