Neighbor purchased two svo's, a 1984 and a 1985 Hertz model, with the intent of restoring one of them. The 84 drove but was a rust bucket, the 85 had a clean body and partially restored interior, but no engine/drive train whatsoever. Successfully built one complete SVO with original components preserved where they mattered.
Completely rebuilt motor, freshened the chassis with tubular LCAs, poly bushings, and new rubber/plastic everywhere.
Car is road legal and drives great, but is still awaiting the finishing touches (air conditioner, stereo, paint, etc)
