  1. Swapping a 8.8" for a 7.5".....yes?

    General Mustang Tech
Interesting info everyone. I definitely don't go around dropping the clutch on my '93. I wonder how the older Fox bodies dealt with the 7.5 rear? I know they were a tad lower on power, but I assume they held up fine under normal 'spirited' driving. I'm NOT talking about drag racing or...
  2. Swapping a 8.8" for a 7.5".....yes?

    General Mustang Tech
Wow, quick responses guys, thanks! Good info here. I didn't realize the 4-cylinder rear was not TracLoc equipped. Maybe I should have some gears installed in my 8.8". Thought the 7.5" would be a worth while (and simple swap). Back to the ole drawing board. I like the 2.73's on the highway...
  3. Swapping a 8.8" for a 7.5".....yes?

    General Mustang Tech
Well, my weekend cruiser '93 LX 5.0 came with 2.73s in the rear-end. My project 4-cylinder coupe came with the 3.73s in the rear (automatic car). I want to swap the 4-cylinder full 7.5" rear into my '93 5.0 so it'll be equipped with 3.73s, even if it is a smaller rear than the current 8.8"...

  5. Smog to H connection

    General Mustang Tech
I've used high temp rubber hose before and a small clamp. Hasn't melted off of my current Mustang yet. It was actually a piece of hose form the 'smog' pump stuff that I used.
  6. CASTER CAMBER plate question

    General Mustang Tech
I don't plan on my car being 'really' low up front....maybe 1.25" all the way around. I was just going by what was on the MM website. I know some of their info applies to track cars, but some all applies to street cars. I probably won't be going with coilovers in the future. Maybe I should...
  7. CASTER CAMBER plate question

    General Mustang Tech
The intended use of the car is purely a nice weather weekend cruiser. I do understand that I'm limited in adjustment by the hood. I was just wondering what brand plates allow the most 'upward' adjustment of the strut rod. It looks to me that the MM plates offer the most via their design and...
  8. Wheels for 1996 GT questions

    Wheels and Tires
Well, a 15" wheel will clear factory '96 GT brakes. If your 'winter' tires aren't terribly wide, you could always pick up a set of cheap V6 Mustang wheels. They are 15x7" .....and can be bought for cheap usually. Good luck!
  9. Magnaflow Magnapack with or without Cats on X pipe?

    General Mustang Tech
Depends on what your current mufflers are. If you've got stock mufflers, then sure it'll be much louder.........but if you've already got an aftermarket muffler, chances are it'll only be a little louder. Just my opinion on it. I say, install them. You can always add cats later.
  10. CASTER CAMBER plate question

    General Mustang Tech
I'm looking at C/C plates, and was wondering one thing. Of ALL the plates, which brand allows the strut rod to sit the highest? (Allowing the strut to have more travel) ...of course MM plates have multiple spacers, but some other brands I look at look like they allow the strut rod to sit...
  11. Anyone have BBK subframe connectors?

    General Mustang Tech
I had the bolt-on BBK subframe connectors (w/seatpost bars) on my old '90 GT. They worked well, but they weren't welded. Now, I have an LX hatch and had a set of MM full length subframes (w/seatpost bars) welded on. I really can't say what was stronger initially.....but over any length of...
  12. Why do Chrome Ponys still cost a arm & a leg ?!?

    Wheels and Tires
I know how you feel. I've been running chrome Ponies since I started the 'Fox wheel' thread. Sold the GT they were on, and put them on my 'new' LX. Wheels are old, but I've kept them up. ....well, now I've picked up another LX and want to put chrome Ponies on it.....but even used they're...

Well, thats what I'll try on my '93 then. Gotta try at least. Thanks for the replies! :)

  18. kinda odd question...

    General Mustang Tech
I'm going to pick up a stock Fox hood Friday for my dad's project coupe. The only problem is, I don't know how I'm going to transport it since I have my Mustang hatchback, and my small Honda Accord. Will a stock Fox hood fit in the hatch of a Fox Mustang? I measured them and its tight, but...
  19. Interior...keep red or go grey?

    General Mustang Tech
FWIW, my first Mustang....which I still miss, was a black '90 GT with the red/black interior. The red interior was probably a 8/10 and everything was still in decent shape when I sold it after owning it about 8 years. The only problem was that I was "never feeling it" with the red interior...
