  2. CLAY TESTING CAM!!!!

    5.0/5.8 Engine Tech
Degreeing a cam is a good thing. That's why every manufacturer recommends it. What's not a good thing is trying to notch pistons in the block with a dremel and trying to keep all those metal shavings out of the rings and lifter valley. That's assuming you're good enough with a dremel to make...
  3. Comp Cams XE270HR-12

    5.0/5.8 Engine Tech
I used it with Edelbrock heads. Plenty of other people use it and many other larger cams with aluminum heads and stock short blocks. It has nothing to do with lift.
  4. Comp Cams XE270HR-12

This is BS. Measure it, but you should clear by a mile.

  6. Does this theory hold water???

    5.0/5.8 Engine Tech
You're not going to pull much raw gas into the exhaust at overlap using the stock cam. The pulse width is also probably not very long at part throttle, anyway. I had similar problems before I got a TwEECer, but I was using 24 lb injectors and meter at the time. I found that I was running lean...

  10. Best way to remove PCV?

    94/95 Tech
No, I understand that you have a problem, I'm just trying to help fix it. You never said if you're using a Ford PCV valve or not. The Ford valve is much better. Also, where is the PCV inlet line routed now?
  11. Best way to remove PCV?

    94/95 Tech
The wire mesh thing under the PCV valve. Where is your PCV feed line located (the line that runs from the oil filler to intake tubing on a stock mustang)?
  12. Best way to remove PCV?

    94/95 Tech
Genuine Ford PCV valve and demister normally do the job. What's your setup?
  13. where to go next with 94 cobra

    94/95 Tech
Sure, to each his own I guess. A 94 Cobra is never going to be that valuable unless it's pristine and never driven. I never cared about that kind of thing. From what I've seen, a Cobra doesn't have much more value than a comparable GT.
  14. Best way to remove PCV?

    94/95 Tech
If you're having a problem, it may be better to fix it than to remove the PCV. The PCV is a good thing for a daily driver.

Hell, I wouldn't mind modding the hell out of a Cobra. I plan to... It'll just have better brakes...
  17. bad stumble and PCV question after head swap

    94/95 Tech
I didn't follow your post... Did you not change your oil after pulling the heads? You'll dump a ton of coolant into your pan when you pull the lower intake. It's pretty much unavoidable.
  18. Do I need locktite on my pedestal bolts?

    5.0/5.8 Engine Tech
    30 wt oil.
  19. Couple of 347 questions...

    5.0/5.8 Engine Tech
No, probably not. I'd do 30s or even 36s and a TwEECer to get them dialed in. You may be near the limit on your MAF transfer function as well. Not perfect, but I'd put the money elsewhere. They might be costing you 5hp, but you'd need to match the intake to see the gains. I wouldn't...
  20. where to go next with 94 cobra

    94/95 Tech
If you can afford some aluminum heads, you already have a nice intake IMO.
