M-2300-K Installation
Setup & Front Caliper Installation
By Chris Ihara
These may be incomplete instructions as I didn't do all the work myself. I had almost no part in doing the rear brakes save removing the emergency brake cables. So be sure to check the instructions that came with the kit!

We did the install in my garage with a jack and 4 jack stands and it wasn't too bad. We had taken pictures of the whole thing and I was going to put them up in this article but someone stole my camera!!! You'll just have to use your imagination.

If you're doing this with a group of friends work in teams on different sections, one team does the front and one does the rear, or one does the left and the other does the right side of the car. Anyway, here's a general summation of the process.

30 Minutes
1 Get the car up on jack stands and make sure it's secure. You may want to have the rear of the car slightly higher than the front for bleeding purposes.
2 Remove all the wheels.
3 Have somone start removing the stock brake booster.
1 Hour
I took the driver's seat out so I could have more room, I highly recommend this.
  • Remove the clutch pedal for a little extra room. The clutch arm is connected to a switch, which you'll heve todisconnect from the arm.
  • Disconnect the brake pedal from the booster arm. A cotter pin holds the brake light switch to the arm, don't lose it.
  • Remove the 4 bolts holding the brake booster using a 14mm socket. You will need to use a various combination of universal joints and extensions to do this.

3 Hours
Do the driver's side first. This way you can have someone start re-working the strut towers while everyone else works on the other parts of the install.

1 Disconnect the front brake hose from the hard line and remove the front calipers. Be careful not to get brake fluid on the paint!
2 Take off the bearing covers on the front hub.
3 Remove the front rotors. You will not be able to remove the spindle without removing the front rotors.
4 Remove the dust shields.
5 Disconnect the tie rod ends be careful not to damage the threads if you hammer them out. Use a nut attached loosely and hammer it not the tie rod bolt.
6 Support the front A Arm with the floor jack
7 Disconnect the front struts.
8 Remove the cotter pin from the spindle mounting nut.
9 Remove the spindle mounting nut.
10 Remove the spindles.
11 Grind out the front hard line bracket so the new hoses will fit properly.
12 Install the new hose and secure it with the provided clips. They are side specific so make sure you use the right ones!
13 Install the new spindle, don't forget to use the spacer! Torque to spec.
14 Reconnect the strut and Torque to spec.
15 Attach the tie rod and torque to spec.
16 Install the new hub.
17 Install the rotor.
18 Install the caliper and torque to spec.
19 Attach the hose to caliper torque to spec.

Repeat for other side and at the same time have someone start the Brake Booster, Master Cylinder, and Stock Proportionng Valve modification and Installation.
