Big Brakes and Aftermarket Wheels
by Randy Stinchcomb (9/15/97)

Big Brakes no problem? Yeah right, unless you want aftermarket wheels for dragracing. The front calipers are so big most aftermarket wheels won't fit.

Here's what I have done to make the 15x4" WELD 5 Stars fit my SN-95.

First remove front wheels, and the rotors. If you have the means remove the "stock" studs, or have a machince shop do this. Then you can buy the "longer" wheel studs sold by either Moroso or Steeda. Next buy two sets of 5/16" wheel spacers, The longer studs will go all the way through the wheel, and the spacers, ( two (2)  spacers per side) so no problem.

Next you can buy the longer (.780 length) open-ended lug nuts sold by Cragar.

Reinstall the rotors and calipers, now you can use aftermarket wheels in the front of your SN-95, this will work on the GT's but not on the Cobra, rear wheels are not a problem either, as I saw a "Red" 96(?) Cobra at Racewaypark, (Englishtown,NJ). and he had Centerline wheels (Convo Pro's or Warrior's not sure), on the the back of his with slicks. This has worked for me so far, have over 7,000 miles on this combo and no problems.
